      C.C. and Nellie CoCroft

CoCroft Music Company was established
in 1904 by C.C. CoCroft.  The store opened
in downtown Thomasville, and in 1912 moved
into it's current location.  C.C. CoCroft built
pianos at the store in the early years.
From 1909 to 1917 CoCroft published sheet
music. Among the publications were southern
ragtime pieces written by CoCroft's wife
N. Weldon (Nellie) CoCroft.
In 1932 Chris CoCroft took over his father's
business.  The store became the major source
in the area for RCA and Victor phonographs,
records, and radios.  With the help of Osco (Sco)
Hughes, CoCroft operated the store for over
sixty years.   Today the store still maintains it's
friendly, customer centered atmosphere.
Many pieces of the past can still be seen.
The cash register made for the store in 1911 is
still in use, and older instruments and musical
memorabilia are on display at the store.
